I wonder if there will ever be another Columbus stamp issued. In the US, at least, it is becoming controversial ("politically incorrect") to celebrate Columbus Day. But for now, happy Columbus Day!

Look who popped-out of the bargain box!

The Spanish PTT sure went to town on the 500th Anniversary, but at least they were a party to the event.

Quote:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pinzon_brothers ... The Pinzón brothers were Spanish sailors, explorers and fishermen, natives of Palos de la Frontera, Huelva, Spain. Martín Alonso, Francisco Martín and Vicente Yañez, participated in Christopher Columbus's first expedition to the New World (generally considered to constitute the discovery of the Americas by Europeans) and in other voyages of discovery and exploration in the late 15th and early 16th centuries.

The first word of the slogan cancel is giving Google Translate fits. I read the zip-code-reminder slogan as:

CONSIGNE EN SUS ENVIO EL CÓDIGO POSTAL

http://retroreveal.org/images/ss/16800 ... is that first word 'CONSIGNE'?

Cheers,

/s/ ikeyPikey
