Can Anyone Help With This 1949 Berlin Souvenir Sheet?

I'm looking at an occupation semi-postal souvenir sheet from Berlin, Scott 9NB3a, mint never hinged, which has a CV of $825.00 in '05. This sheet is faintly inscribed Privat Naudruck on the back which makes me think it might be too good to be true. Swabbie or Bob or anyone else know of any reprints or such on this item since Scott mentions nothing about either reprints or the inscription. If it's real, I wonder what the '08 and '09 CV would be.

i think it may be too good to be true..not sure what the private printing is about..but I know fakes can be printed if they are marked as such ....Swabbie can you join in ????

Phil, I don't believe it's real. There are some listed in ebay stores and they have perforations around the individual stamps on the sheet. This one doesn't.

Bob, I'll get you scans next time I'm scanning. Would like to find out more about it if your German friend can help, along with what, if anything, it might be worth.

I haven't seen or heard of a private printing of that particular souvenir sheet, but I have some private reprints of several high value airmail so I'm assuming it's something similar.

The '09 catalog still has a real copy at $825. As others said, though, it's still a nice item and probably the only way I would ever be able to have it represented in my album.

Thanks for the input, everyone. Bob's German friend says it's definitely a fake, and worth maybe $5.00 as a filler. Swabbie, if you're interested, maybe we can work a trade with some of your German duplicates. I can use West German stuff from post war to about 1973.
