This June 9, 2001 duplex cancellation of 'KONSTANZ' (Eng.: Constance) Germany features an image of a car ferry. The inscription on the cancel says, "Car Ferry Konstanz - Meersburg." Photo image shows a car ferry crossing the 'Bodensee' (Lake Constance). From bodensee.eu, "If you want to go to Constance or from there to Meersburg, you can enjoy a spectacular view of the Alps and the island of Mainau on the car ferry...365 days a year, 24 hours a day. Every year, the six ferries carry around 4.2 million passengers and 1.5 million vehicles.   |

So there are a couple of ship threads.... But this seems to be the more recent active - I think. Anyhow, I look for Merchant Marine, US Cargo Ships and Liberty Ships too. I recently got this one honoring Operation Pedestal, 1942, WWII - Malta support of... Its a type C3 US cargo vessel.
