I'm not a student of Russian philately, though I've started a small collection of the early coat of arms stamps.
I can't find this one in the catalogue. Offices in Turkey?
Can anyone set me straight?

Thanks

Latvia.

Mentioned/pictured in a footnote by Scott, but no catalog numbers assigned. There should be a couple of old threads on this stamp. I believe one of them gives Michel?/SG? catalog numbers.

Talk about yer mixed messages!
Are the Latvian stamps listed in Scott's (there's a picture) and the Russia: North West: Western Army listed in Gibbons referring to the same stamp?

...and Floortrader, are the reason's you say it's a forgery the same as those listed by nigelc on the post that Rod has posted? (phew!)

1. The paper is the wrong colour (but this is also true for some of the reprints).
2. The printing's not very clear (and again this is true for some of the later reprints).
3. The white line above the value 15 is the wrong shape.
4. The little flag shape to the top left of the first letter of Russkaya is the wrong shape.
5. The last letter of Russkaya is the wrong shape.

Work taking precedence over stamp collecting?
This practice has to cease immediately!

Welcome to SCF Stamp Dazed,
Do they have OKCA on them perhaps?

The stamps featured in this thread all have the same design.

I am working on it Rod .

I have the complete set (a few sets actually). There was a recent article in the American Philatelist on these Latvia / North West Army stamps, and it turns out that they are so confusing that there is some question as to whether the fakes are real or the real are fakes!

I will have to dig it out.
