One that nearly got away. I was away at the time, a colleague knew I wanted this, and bid on it for me, without my knowledge, and won it! How cool is that! I genuflect in his general direction. 1939 Pro Patria sheets (2 sheets = 6 overprints) Scott 488A to C surtax for national defence. |

The 500th Anniversary of Bucharest (Vlad Tepes) sheetlet of 1959 shown further up does not appear in SG SOTW 2011, but if they ever get around to listing it, it will be SG2670. |

Thank you very much indeed 22crows, I [am] looking for SG Balkans by the way, so you can take a rest :)
The Vlad (Anniv)sheet is a real strange one, can be seen with asking prices from $9 to 85 Great Brit Pounds. One sold yesterday for US $25 I'll employ SG2670 then.

Does anyone besides me notice the wide variety of lettering fonts used on Romanian stamps? They seem to revel in experimentation. |

Quote: Does anyone besides me notice the wide variety of lettering fonts used on Romanian stamps? They seem to revel in experimentation Rohumpy Take 10 points! They do indeed. The Romanian Catalogue teems with individuality and expression, myriads of oddballs, A revenue stamp for everything bar breathing, Souvenir sheets that will fill a suitcase, If one is tired or Romanian Philately, they are tired of life :) In the past, I was looking at all the differing fonts used just for "A"
Not sure on this one, year in silver under currency Possibly 1992 or 1993 Orcinus Orca 1962 |
