To be a new member, takes a couple of months, your name is put the American Philatelist as new applicant, We the APS membership have a month to blackball you. and then a month later they publish your name and you are taught the secert handshake. so, as it says in the Sept. Issue , your application was recd in July, the blackball period is the month of Sept. and the notice of new membership is placed in the Nov. 2012 American Philatelist. |

When you join APS, you might get Linn's online edition free. I get it, and I never asked for it, and it's been coming over 4 years now. (Member since 1973)

The wheels do turn slowly, but for good reason, I'm sure. I "joined" on 20 August, and still show as an "applicant". I may just be a full member when my subs are due! |

Have I been black-balled? Am I paranoid? |

They're probably working non-member to applicant, then doing the applicants to members. They obviously get LOTS of applications! |

I just got a letter that says my membership will be confirmed after they check my reference. What Reference??? There was no place to input a reference on the form. What are they talking about? |

I wonder when these rules began? Has this been happening since the first two members decided to let the third one in? I hope the secret handshake is easier! |
