Thanks everyone! I will probably sell them on ebay sometime this winter as I actually prefer covers and these can help with the cover fund. Rod, you're right - a little knowledge helped me to spot them amongst the other stuff in the antique dealer's display case of chaos (reminds me of playing Kim's Game in Scouts). I don't know when that auction will be as I'm still working in the field too much to do a full blown ebay auction just yet, but I'm sure to place a link here. It should be interesting to see what happens. Despite the nice find, I can almost bet that antique dealer cut them off the covers.

Battlestamps, congratulations on this enviable finding.

If you will list them for auction on ebay, plesae note the vacation of Chinese New Year of 2013 is on February 09 to February 17, 2013, most China post offices will be closed, only a few main post offices will still be opened in every city, so the mail backlog will be happened in China Post, and we expect an extended period even all post officers go back to work. It is better to avoid sending mails in February 2013 to China for the safe and fast delivery.

by the way, the China New Year is not fixed date in every year, but always is in January or February.

Zhang,
Thanks for the tip. I'll keep that in mind when I have more auctions this winter. Chinese New Year is based on a lunar calender, correct?

What's the range of Scott No.'s? (Is No. 456 among the hi-value stamps?)
