Hi Hawkstamp,

You must realize that we are really laughing at ourselves, not at your or your stamp. I think it is one of the aspects of greatness of the community when we can all laugh at ourselves for ogling over the attractive stamp you posted an image of.

hawkstamp, you're fine with your posts. The ribbing around here is almost always good natured.

Now, about the stamp.

If you use Stanley Gibbons, then the first three catalogue numbers for Great Britain are 1d. black (more or less), with plates and varieties taking off from there.

If you are just happy to have GB #1 in Scott-land, then you don't have to go any further. If you were really looking to see what you have, especially if you ever think of selling, you might want to dig further.

Plates 1b, 2, 5 and 6 are the base catalogue values in my SG. There is a nice premium for plate 10, and a super premium for plate 11.
