With regard to the old Danmoore Hotel in Portland, Oregon, your research is correct as it relates to the "newer" Danmoore Hotel, however, part of the confusion is that there was an earlier Danmoore Hotel located at 475 Washington Street (Corner of 14th Street) but was only known by that name for a short time (1908-1909) as shown here: The old Danmoore Hotel was first known as the Nortonia (1906), the Danmoore (1908), the Hotel Ramapo (1909) and later the Taft Hotel (1955). Interestingly, that old building still stands today and is used as residential housing known as the Taft Home for Senior and Disabled Adults: http://pdxretro.com/2011/05/histori...hen-and-now/http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hotel_Ramapo |

Sent to my Grandfather in Australia from a relative in Santa Barbara in 1919. My research showed an interesting history including a fire that destroyed the property in 1921. Was this the correct rate for Air Mail.? |

The domestic air mail rate in the U.S. the date of the card was 6 cent between selected cities. The postcard rate was double (2 cents) at this time because of the war. The 6 cents here probably pays an international rate. |

The Waldhaus Dolder in Zurich CH. http://www.dolderwaldhaus.ch/en ... like many older EU hotels, they now offer both rooms & apartments. The WikiGod has images of other postcards that show a tram on those tracks (lower right corner). Cheers, /s/ ikeyPikey |

The Hotel Restaurant Nestler at Berlin's Zehlendorf-West railway station. The starting point of our tour is the 1905, designed by the architects Hart and Lesser Art Nouveau S-Bahnhof Mexikoplatz. We cross the road and Beer reach the left side of Mexico square with lawn and flower beds. There we are faced with a locative and commercial building (Mexikoplatz 4), which was built by the architect Otto Kuhlmann in the years 1905-06 in the country house style. The other houses on the site come from him. In this corner building was before the Second World War, the hotel and restaurant of Josef Nestler. Since the 60s, it features an Italian restaurant. The Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York. My wife picked up this post card for me at the local antique mall today. Postmarked in Nanuet, New York, close to my old stomping ground growing up in northern New Jersey. Good find, honey. Robert |

Excellent suggestion, Bas! The Quebec Provincial Exposition seems to have been an annual event. Cheers, /s/ ikeyPikey From the Quebec Daily Telegraph of 18/July/1912 via Google News: From the Quebec Daily Telegraph of 28/August/1911 via Google News: |
