Wow, you MaxiFolk are a tough crowd :) Re Heidelberg. I am reasonably certain that the spire (dead center in the image) belongs to the Heiliggeistkirche. wiki: A solemn holy Mass was offered in the Heiliggeistkirche in 1386 to mark and bless the establishment of the University wiki: the catechism's introduction credits the "entire theological faculty here" (at the University of Heidelberg) Whether/not that last bit was false modesty on the part of the principal author - or an attempt to drag his colleagues along, kicking & screaming - I recognize that spire-church-university-authorship is a daisy chain, and will try to do better, next time. Okay, here's next time: I cannot speak to the cds (below), but the stamp & card seem concordant ... at least to an maximaphily outsider :( Cheers, /s/ ikeyPikey |

A great US President Illustrated postmark : Dixon IL February 9 2006 Dixon is the boyhood home of the 40th president of the USA, Ronald Reagan. Reagan was born in nearby Tampico, Illinois and moved to Dixon when he was 9 years old. In his teen years, he lifeguarded along the banks of the Rock River. His family house is preserved at 816 South Hennepin Avenue, and authorized by Congress to become the Ronald Reagan Boyhood Home National Historic Site. In 1984, during his first term as president, Reagan returned to Dixon to celebrate his 73rd birthday. He toured his boyhood residence and the city held a parade in his honor. ( Wikipedia) |
