A very plain and simple postcard from Duttia State

but any used postal stationery from Duttia is very hard to find. This is one of the stars of my Duttia collection.

And if you have so detailed a knowledge of the Bundelkhand region of India as to recognise the connection between that Duttia card and this Indian postal stationery cover used from Orchha (there is one)

you really do need to get a life ...

tonymacg: Nice Indian States material. When you can't read the "national" language, it makes it hard to know what is good and what isn't. Keep the posts coming.

Here is a new one to me. French Southern & Antartic Territories.
Here is an aerogramme from them. Any idea when this came about (release date?)?

Close up view of imprinted stamped portion.

Overall view of aerogramme.

I found the year 1993 associated with the above TAAF aerogramme issue date. For those keeping score.

I have about 3 cut squares from the Philippines and a few other things in my bankers box of stationary, 99.99% USA items. Found one Swiss (i think?) postcard and thought the postcard on wood was cool, kinda like the ones at tourist traps I remember going on vacation as a kid and seeing.

Here are two pieces of British India postal stationery.
The first I collected for the postmark on the printed face "Secunderabad / Deccan/ 12 DEC 88". The two places are different towns. I am wondering if this is a Travelling Post Office Cancel? Ideas?

This second item I almost missed. It is a British India item overprinted Zanzibar (H&G #2)(very lightly-hope the scan shows it):

PoStat4evr, your first, from Secunderabad/Deccan is fairly simply explained. Secunderabad was the town; Deccan was the region - essentially, Hyderabad State.

Secunderabad was a major cantonment, or military base in modern terms, in Hyderabad State, and quite close to Hyderabad Town. Not postal stationery, but a delightful cover nonetheless:

from Montgomery's Hotel at Secunderabad. Apparently it was one of the two hotels one could stay at when in Secunderabad.

And as a footnote to a footnote ... Secunderabad derives its name ultimately from Alexander the Great. He never made it as far as Hyderabad of course, but his fame - or notoriety - spread throughout the Middle East.

Here is some postal stationery from three German states.

Lubeck

Mecklenberg-Strelitz

Wurttemberg--this one seems to be revalued from 1 kreuzer to 5 pfennigs.
