It seems strange that they archived the index page but not the links from it. I hope it is not too late to get them back.

Got a response from the Archives....too late.....the platform is out of date and they cannot renew it
.....................................................................................................from them:

Thank you for your inquiry to Library and Archives Canada regarding the Philatis Postal Archives visual search.

I regret to inform you that this database was on outdated technology which we are no longer able to maintain or support and we currently do not have the resources to migrate it to a new platform. I understand that the functionality is not quite the same, however there are some guidelines available at the following link regarding searching our archival database for stamps and stamp products: http://www.bac-lac.gc.ca/eng/discov...ilately.aspx

Library and Archives Canada is currently in the process of renewing its entire collection search interface and functionality. In keeping with the best practices of many of our sister organizations, we are investing our resources into new search tools that will allow users increased functionality in searching the entire collection, rather than standalone databases or thematic exhibitions for specific parts of the collection.

Apologies for the inconvenience; please don't hesitate to let us know if you have any questions or require further assistance.

You could always use the Stamp Smarter Canadian database. http://www.stampsmarter.com/feature...eatures.html (towards bottom). I will look into developing a check list from this database (like I did with the US) in the next few days.

Renden, thanks for the info. You certainly had much better luck then I

Wert, I had forgotten about that site. Thanks for the memory jog. It's in my favorites now.

Here is the first draft of a printable Canadian checklist for regular issue stamps
http://www.stampsmarter.com/PNT/Can...51_1899.aspx
I will develop additional checklists for other years and for the back or book stamps separately. As I get more done, I will add a 'landing page' for all the Canadian checklists with links for each checklist. Users can, of course, chose to print only specific pages when they send the print job to their printer.

Yes, I have a written contract with Scott (Amos) but do not have one with Unitrade. Sorry

While Scott does not list as many varieties as Unitrade does, Unitrade is based on Scott numbers and uses them. I saw your list and noted that more early Canada varieties were listed in it than I saw in the Scott catalogue listing for Canada from five years ago.

Great work on the checklist Don. Two small observations: I could not find the link to the instructional video you mention in the opening paragraph and you refer to US stamps rather than Canadian stamps in the upper checklist box.

Should be a handy reference and stamp management tool.

Don,
Oops, my bad. Fixed. I had an instructional video because I previously had a checklist system where users selected the stamps they wanted to add. But this system proved to be too complex, bulky, and slow. Other mistake was just me being half-baked.
Thank you for the feedback.
