I bought this cover off ebay for a few dimes. I bought it because I'm interested in the history of northern Brevard County, Florida, through philately. Titusville has two airports: one that dates from 1927 and the other from 1943--so, I haven't determined which airport this cover is commemorating. Probably the older one, but more research is needed. On the cover, the air mail rate of 5 cents is paid with three stamps: 1c Franklin (Scott 632), 2c Sullivan Expedition (Scott 657) and 2c Goethals (Canal Zone Scott 106). The Canal Zone stamp is an illegal usage, so the cover should have been assessed postage due. Then I looked at the back of the cover. A.C. Roessler was a prolific cover sender in the 1930s known for his philatelic contrivances. That may explain a lot about this cover. Enjoy. Robert |

But anyone could buy his good-quality envelopes, too, all part of his printing business. My experience is that the foobie covers that he produced were addressed to him or his many pseudonyms; this name doesn't ring a bell. It's a BS creation nonetheless, at least the franking is. |

I received my 2016 Mystic US Supplement. Given I used points, it just cost my postage. I ordered it Friday and got in Monday. |
