A nice Philatelistic cover from Austria from 1920. I believe it has the first werbestempel/advertising postmark of Austria : Help Austria's children. An amercan initiative. |

I ordered 10 more Vario-G binders and they arrived promptly as usual. I hope it will be more than I will need for some time. But, they are made in China so thinking possible tariffs to jack up the price. |

Took delivery of a nice world album. Very cheap, but huge catalogue value. The seller seems to have taken pains to scan only the worst pages. About £500 cat. value just in France. But no commonwealth at all -- all stamps removed. Sometimes ebay gambles pay off quite handsomely. |

Received some interesting Ottoman Empire forerunner stamps cancelled in Yemen. They are on the pile to be written up, but I have a few already so the research shouldn't be too onerous. |

Today received 2 collections bought from an ebay vendor, one Japan and one Thailand. The Thailand much the better lot. Slowly filling in the gaps in the older (pre-1940) high value definitive series. |

Three large volumes about herbs. Unfortunately, I'd ordered some books by Freya Stark. Somewhere, a herbivore is in distress. |

Just got my State Birds and Flowers monster sheet plus a few se tennant plate blocks (1979-82 Architecture issues, 1998 Tropical Bird issue, 1978 Owl issue).
Now I need to find stock sheets to hold all of these. The megasheet will be tricky as it's bigger than my binder! |

Quote: The megasheet will be tricky as it's bigger than my binder! I use Itoya Art Portfolios for my bigger material. They are available from Amazon. They come in various sizes. I use the 11x17-inch for my biggest items. Robert |

I received this a few years ago wrapped around a carton received from "Eastern Auction Ltd." I saved the 45" long item and hung it from my stamproom wall, and have rightfully titled it "Postal Wall Paper." Reminds me of children playing with sticker art which was popular not too long ago. |

The latest auction catalogue for my local Philatelic Society arrived just now. This auction is part of our Diamond Jubilee celebrations in late October. Time for a cup of tea and a browse through the catalogue. |
