Winston Churchill's Victory sign became known the world over. He died 50 years ago today. The stamp was issued by the Emirate of Fujeira, located on the eastern side of the Emirate peninsula.

Hands of Athletes: The javelin throw requires a powerful and precise grip as well as a very strong arm. In the picture on this airmail stamp from Spanish Guinea the javelin's flight and that of the fighter squad are both precise.

Here is an image of a first day cover and a stamp depicting a photograph entitled "Hands and Thimble" by American photographer Alfred Stieglitz (1864-1946), designed by Derry Noyes, printed by photogravure, and issued by the USA on June 13, 2002 as one of 20 stamps in a sheet commemorating "Masters of American Photography," Scott No. 3649h.

Braille



Braille is a tactile writing system used by the blind and the visually impaired.
It is traditionally written with embossed paper. It is named after its creator Louis Braille (1809-1852).

Hands of artists - conductor Robert Stolz (1880-1975)



Robert Stolz was an Austrian songwriter and conductor as well as a composer of operettas and film music.
He composed music for the first German sound film Zwei Herzen im Dreivierteltakt (Two Hearts in Waltz Time).
