One in a set of three Surinam forestry stamps of 1972 illustrating the importance of planting trees for maintaining the forest. The small, densely forested country of Surinam achieved independence from the Netherlands in 1975 (stamp language in Dutch).

The New Caledonian tree is almost like a Christmas tree with fruits, flowers and a pretty bird. Association for the protection of New Caledonia's Nature = ASNNC; plant for the environment, 1995.

For the Commonwealth Forestry Conference of 1993, Malaysia featured a handful of dense mangrove forest, so essential for protecting the nation's coastal areas.

A beautiful tree, each branch a stylized human hand, represents the dependence of living creatures on healthy forests. Even the corals in the ocean below have a tree-like structure. A souvenir sheet from the philatelic meeting in Taipei in 2016.

A set of two South Korean stamps of 1956 feature reconstruction efforts after the war. A small seedling is pictured in front of the red-blue Korean Taegeuk and protected by the hands.

A semi-arid region of Brazil was turned into the Nature Preserve Caatinga Nordestina. The fragile environmental relationships need protection to prevent the area from becoming a desert. 2002

Kiribati is one of the first islands to welcome the New Year. Twenty years ago one of their stamps for the new millennium had Faith as a topic. Interesting that Kiribati itself is not shown on the globe.
