You can find deals on these usually but getting all 4 in 1 spot at same time would be a trick short of a collection lot. I just picked up some loose pages that has one with exceptional centering and salvedge tab that was really an extra bonus I didn't expect. The're abundant but in VF is not the easiest thing to find. If your content with yours then I would go the peroxide way and not worry about the gum.

wert "Christmas stamps" are issued by postal authorities for Christmas mailing. That stamp was evidently issued AT Christmas, not FOR Christmas.

I'm surfing ebay for the Xmas Map stamps. I see no lavender coloured ones (#85). I wonder if they have not all faded away to grey. I wonder if any one you out there can upload a lavender copy (and say how it is stored.)

Well... I did it. I put the 86's into peroxide for 3 minutes, then a clear wash and, voila:
Before:

After:

I must say I'm pleased and now they look great in my album and (as I said before) no one will care that the gum has gone until I'm gone!
(One was hinged, I discovered.)
I will wait a while before treating the 85's. That gold one does have a certain je-ne-sais-quoi.

I don't know the details of how to do it, but there are ways to do the peroxide treatment that do not damage the gum - might try asking around at a show if you are going to one before you soak any more.

I would be willing to trade the #85i (MNH VF) Muddy Waters for a #85i (MH VF) Grey if anyone wants this "variety". (ie Light Hinged is okay.)
Or the #85 (MNH F). for that matter, if anyone has an extra lavender one.

I have now "peroxided" the 85's and here are the results:

Before:

After:

As I suspected, there is little difference in colour. The lavender (left) is just a soupçon (tinge).
My Victorian era page, however, looks rather nice now!
