Professor Geiger designed this image of miners which was used on some of Germany's stamps from the post-World War I era.

Bord na Móna is a state-owned company responsible for managing peat production in the nation. Peat is used in power generation, domestic heating, and agriculture.
The stamp depicts a mechanical peat harvester for open-cast mining operation.

Centenary of the Kolar Gold Fields
December 20, 1980
Kolar Gold Fields is a mining town in Bangarpet Taluk, 100 km east of the city of Bengaluru, in the Kolar District of Karnataka state. The town was known for gold mining for over a century and was eventually closed in 2001 due to low level of gold production.

The Yellowknife settlement is considered to have been founded in 1934, after gold was found in the area. The heritage of gold mining is shown in the stamp design of a gold mine and a gold pan.
