It is that time of the end of the year when many stamp organization memberships are up for renewal. With a very tight end of the year budget, I feel that I may not be renewing some of my philatelic memberships for the upcoming year.

I understand, jogil.
Plus, regardless of budget, it's a good time to "re-evaluate" subscriptions.
My conclusions thus far: - YES I will renew my APS Membership - YES I will renew my BNAPS Membership - YES I will renew Linns, but online only; no print - NO I will not renew Canadian Stamp News

Actually, you pose a good question. I tend to renew a number subscriptions in which I have no real interest to support the organization. A couple of years ago, I realized that I was reading my issue of Linn's in less that 15 minutes and switched to the digital subscription. Since then, my subscriptions have been for the digital editions of a number of organizations. |

Well, I only just subscribed to some philatelic publications. (I've been collecting for over a decade, but have gotten more serious about it since retiring.) Three I'm keeping, for now:
1) APS 2) First Days 3) Linn's (Digital online)

I maintain my membership in the APS and my state philatelic society, plus Linns digital.

I don't want to renew my Linns digital subscription when it expires next month. Does anyone know if it's auto renewal or if it will cancel automatically if I don't pay? The cancel page on Linn's stamp site hasn't worked for ages ... |

'First Days' is a really good read; I don't expect to be collecting FDCs, but I could see subscribing to 'First Days'.
As a returnee, I've taken forty-year-fresh look at the weekly/monthly generic philatelic press.
If I were collecting new issues, I'd subscribe to Linn's; but I don't, and won't.
I'll continue my memberships, and might add one/two.
Cheers,

KirkS, Isn't your Linn's digital part of your APS membership. I know that mine is. |

rohumpy: How is the Linn's Stamp New digital edition part of your APS membership? Are you a new member? I've been a member since 1972 and have never heard of this cross over.

Very interesting, rohumpy.
I've been in APS for a decade or so and I've never heard of that before. I'll dig around on their website.
If you have any details, please share them, Kirk |

I'm a member of the APS and several others, and aside from the reading material, it's also for the support as I find myself very often reviewing the material they offer for research. I stopped Linn's several years ago because it contains too much advertising and information duplicated by other sources. I collect only US Issues, but have occasion to review BNAPS and I only recently joined The Perfins Club. I anticipate joining The Precancel Stamp Society. I find myself going to their sites more often. With so much information made available by these organizations, I feel compelled to support them. I print articles and reference material from these sites to add to my own library of Philatelic information too. |

I am renewing BNAPS and RPSC but dropping Linn's. It's a good magazine but since I don't collect U.S., many articles are of no interest. |

I renewed by APS membership for a 30th year and my United States Stamp Society membership for the 28th year. I plan to continue receiving Linn's in both online and print form and have been a subscriber for over 31 years. |

I'm now a 40 year member of APS and no longer have to pay dues. I've shifted over to a donor category with APS. I've already renewed ISPP for 2015 (Intl. Society of Portuguese Philately) and will renew MEPSI when it comes due (Mexico Elmhurst Phil. Soc. Intl.). Linn's is always a question mark, but I don't need to decide until April or May. |
