USPS "Gives Away" Right Side Up Jenny Souvenir Sheet

What with the costs of handling one hundred thousand two dollar stamps, and some small discount from face value when ridding yourself of one hundred thousand two dollar stamps, would it not be cheaper to just buy the Jenny Contrivance?

Some people are addicted to gambling and in a sense that is what a lot of the people who bought the sheets were doing. They would buy a sheet hoping to come out a winner and one leads to another. To someone with unlimited funds they could just buy and buy and buy. I never bought even one sheet because I couldn't/ didn't want to bad enough. I know I'm an odd ball but I have only bought two lottery tickets in my entire life.It was for Mega Millions. I just figured I would donate $2 to the cause. Like I said I know I am an odd ball. I don't do Casino's either. I have only played two times at a Casino. Once for $10 free plays and once I spent $2 in the penny slots. I always figured I would rather spend my money on something to eat or on Pepsi. At least I know I'm going to get something out of my money not give it to the Indians or line some Casino owners pockets.

Seems as though it represents a bit of a change from that which was previously published on the subject.

Just watched Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory with my daughter, first time I've seen it in 40 years. This reminds me of the dad who had his factory workers searching hundreds of thousands of chocolate bars for the Golden Ticket for his daughter.

I would imagine selling opened and pawed through chocolate would require more than a small discount.

Yea it would have been cheaper. But just like all gamblers.' They hope to hit the jackpot on the first try then the second and so on and on and on. Until they either reach their limit,go broke or finally give up or win.

I think the latest news from the USPS reveal clues to help narrow the search. In other words, if Linn's can put together a map with where the rare sheets were found, that would help to locate the best areas to search. I put my money where my mouth is and I bought 75 sheets today from a post office in an area where, as far as I know, none have been found. Many post offices do not carry the sheet any longer. If I find a sheet today I will certainly let everyone know. Otherwise I have $900 in postage for my mailings.

Chased through a number of threads and links in them and it seems the last number was 41 have been reported found. Think that was of late 2015. Did not find anything more recent abortively trying to search Linn's. Anyone know what the count is now a few more years down the road? RnC

I am always skeptical about such "games" where large sums of money are involved.
