Definitely the best single reference on pneumatic tube mail service available but a bit long winded (is this possible with the government?) at 600 pages. |

I have a wish; a book (?) that is not in my library. The book is refered to in the Zumstein Spezialkatalog Schweiz XXV. Auflage, 2000. The title is "Schweizer Portofreiheitsmarken 1911-1944" by Mr. Erwin Steinbruechel. I have contacted Zumstein, no results. Amazon or E-Bay don't have it either. Anyone out there familiar with this? |

Many years ago I picked this book from an Oxford (England) second hand bookshop. Printed in Edinburgh in 1913, 227 very interesting (even for an old philatelist!) pages with some illustrations. |

Just two weeks ago, I was a tourist in Brugge (Flanders), when I ran into a philatelic exhibition of HH the Prince Albert II of Monaco Stamp Collection. I visit the exposition and wasn't able to resist buying the book (in English) of it. Very interesting, with outstanding Monaco's rarities and a worthwhile account of Brugge Pre-philatelic Postal History. |

I'm with Malamute, good information is expensive (excepting SCF of course ) The accepted ref material for Romania is around $139 saving $20 a month is going to take a while.... |

This past Thursday we had a guest speaker at our stamp club author Anthony p. Musso who wrote "FDR and the Post Office". It was the first time I saw an almost standing ovation for a speaker at our club. I must have been really impressed as I plunked down $15.00 for an autographed copy...Although FDR was a local here in the Mid Hudson Valley..the book dwells on him as a stamp collector..amazing he never threw away a philatlic item ! If someone wrote him a letter with a stamp on it ..he kept it...he was NEVER without on portion of his stamp collection..no matter where he travelled. His relationship with his friend and Postmaster General James A. Farley is also well covered. Farley advised against Roosevelt running for a third term and when he did the two men never spoke to one another again.. A good little read !! |

Here's my newest addition. I'm just starting to further expand my collection of 19th Century U.S. Of course I still need the other two volumes. |

I wish I could find some of these at the garage sales in the area. Or the library book sale. |
