Now that we're settled in on the new server I've doubled the size allowed to 200KB.
The image optimizer will now only shrink images over 1,000 pixels wide instead of 600 pixels wide.
I did some tests and I think you'll will be very happy. Hopefully it will cut out some use of external sites so the images never disappear.

Seems to work fine, I'm amazed. I see hardly any difference except maybe the Photobucket image is just a bit sharper as one would expect. Thanks Bobby. 183KB Photobucket 1,147.19 KB |

I tried to upload an image, but was flagged by the "must be under 200KB" message.
My computer lists the size of my .jpg as 198kB when my mouse hovers over it (and lists as 199kB in the file detail information).
When using the StampCommunity "Image Resizer" utility, the original .jpg size is identified as 198.99KB (686px x 427px) and it resizes it to 102.06KB (857px x 533px).
So, there appears to be a limit under 200kB that files cannot exceed to be uploaded, less than 200kB.

Thanks Bobby. orstampman: It is been my experience with the 100 kb limit that you cannot upload files bigger than about 98%, but when they load they load as 102%. I think you should be able to get by with 195KB. The process that uploads images must prep them in such a way as to add a bit more data to the image file. |
