I feel stupid for asking, but I just can not find a source for used stamps from 1990 and later. On paper, off paper kilo.

It's not a stupid question. I'd like to know too.

Many sellers like myself don't have the time to offer this particular area of their used stock, but have stock available. It's under represented on sites like ebay because there seems to be little demand. I have 1000's of stamps I still haven't cataloged because I spend most of my time working on other areas.

I see, so were do you get them?

Possibly there is no demand because there are no offerings?

A few orders of 1000 stamps for $10.99 gives me all the 1940-1980 stamps I need for the time being.

On ebay, set to show Worldwide, there are 11,600 listings shown under the search terms or categories ' Stamps / 2015 '.

on Delcampe.net, set to show Worldwide, there are 26,900 listings under the search terms or categories ' Stamps / 2015 '.

Depending on which country or countries you are looking for, then there are other options elsewhere for acquiring stamps, mint and used and covers; different local language auction sites or ebay or Delcampe sites.

Puzzler,

I searched for Stamps/1998 then refined it to US and it gave me a total 30 selections, mostly sheets and souvenirs.

Now I can go to ebay and find 1000 stamps for 10 bucks, and I'll get a few 1800's a few 1900-1920, bit more of 20-29, then a bunch 1930- 1989, with few into the 1990's.

I am not looking to buy 1 or 2 stamps. The catalog number for the first stamp in 1990 is 2439 the last catalog number in 2012 is 4591. 2,000 stamps one at a time searching on ebay?

Let me put it another way from 1845 until 1990 the US produced, or Scott cataloged, 2439 stamps; in the following 25 years it has produced at least as many.

Simply put ebay, Delcampe, or any dealer really can not, or does not help. Volume at a low price is what is needed.

We specialise in Australia 1990 to 2015 and have over 1,200 listings.

Australia still has water based gum on the self adhesives.

60c stamps are from 2010 to 2014 and we sell 1,000 comm's for $30 mailed in Australia but mailing costs outside Australia $21.10 US Can & $27.20 to UK. Can get two lots for that mailing cost.

55c era 2008 to 2010 is also on offer.

50c era 2003 to 2008 is also on offer.

Kiloware is going through the roof as less and less people send letters.

The very recent 70c era is selling at $400 per kg or 4,500 stamps and that is comm's and defin's we can not supply enough 70c kiloware to our buyers.

We find the era we sell is very popular but have no idea about other countries.

KVG,

thanks for the response. Apparently in the US we do not care about half of the stamps produced by this country. What we bid over are some W/F and and if they are pink, red pink, read brown, brown red, pink red brown, pink brown red, rose red brown rose, etc. It is so absurd that even Scott Catalog will not create a color chart for their own listing. In other words, color is in the eye of the beholder, and so is the classification of the stamp.

Here is a chart produced in attempt to arrange these colors: http://tx4.us/nbs/nbsstamp.htm notice how color number 11 falls under many different names. So we are stuck needing a certificate for a stamp, and the guy doing the certification charges $20 for a stamp under $200 and a sliding scale for a stamp over $200; in other words his incentive is to give me what I want, the most expensive stamp. It doesn't matter if it is so or not.

In one thread we disscuss if the price of the stamp is driven by demand, or the Scott Catalog, or ebay, frankly I think it must be by withholding stamps from the market place.

Here are a couple sites that might be worth checking out

http://www.postlynx.com/ This site has a US hub so it might not be too bad to use a credit card on.

http://www.nordfrim.com/usa-1-kg-tubmission This site is apparently in Germany. Just can't figure out what the word Tubmission means.

One can generally find on-paper country-specific mixes containing mostly recent stamps on ebay, at least for the more popular countries. Finding a general WW mix that's mostly new is more problematic.

Back when I was in my kiloware phase, I purchased from this seller several times with good results. £40 works out to around $60 US, or $30 per pound of kiloware. The seller is very easy to work with.

@ Joe
Tubmission is probably a play on "mission" kiloware (on-paper) that has to end up in a tub for removal.

I think there are some factors that you've overlooked Joe. Overall there are less stamps from that era because there has been less collecting and the people that do collect aren't interested in that era. For the $44.00 you spent on the lots of stamps you could have gotten a lot of stamps from say Mystic but of course they're wanting more than a penny a stamp but they have everything. Good luck in your search.

A couple of ideas...

Green Harris Bag from Hobby Lobby (maybe about a dozen or two decent 21st century stamps and maybe some good regional Machin) $4 with coupon. Give one a try. Kinda fun!

Now to get serious and you will have to spend some money too.

B. Schulze Stamps
P.O. Box 1028
Port Angeles WA
USA 98362-0176

Schulze has been around 50 years and has lots of mixtures. Check out Linns for ads

What if you want 50 pounds of recent Commemoratives from Germany?
check out Swan Philatelic Imports
http://www.swanstamps.com
A few kilos from these folks will keep you busy. Speedy service too!

The fact that the US can't offer water soluble self-adhesives is an embarrassment. I still save recent US commemoratives, but they are ugly to save on pieces of paper. Yes, Pure Citrus can do the trick but I just am not a fan of spraying my stamps.
