I'm trying to identify a picture from a vintage stamp book that was used in a trivia contest. The picture shows a sketch of a man in a suit holding a pencil with question marks, money signs, with yeses and nos above his head as well. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Hi, Brandon, and welcome to the forum. I think we'll need a little more: are you able to scan this picture? Also, "stamp book" is a bit vague. Do you mean a stamp album (for housing collections), a stamp catalog, or a book about stamps?

I apologize, I'm not entirely certain but I think the reference to stamp book meant a stamp album for housing collections. Unfortunately I cannot post the picture online under contest rules, but I can email it to anyone who is interested in looking at it.

I'm willing to take a look. What exactly is being asked about the picture for the contest?

I would say yes you can ( I did it)..But are you entering this as a contest item, or just want information..If it is information, then post a scan of what you are looking at and many people here can help you.

BTW..Welcome to the forum...

The picture comes from a trivia contest in Wisconsin. Unfortunately, although I would really like to, under the rules of that contest, the pictures cannot be posted. But I am allowed to send the image to anyone interested.

I'll take a look if you like. As per Dudley above, I'd like to know exactly what info you need. Country and date perhaps?

Thanks to everyone for their interest! The pictures are distributed in a booklet and are not posted online, so the images are not linked anywhere. We can scan them and send them via email, but that's the only option. Because I am a new member, when I try to send an email to another member it says I'm not able to do so. I sent a message through "contact us" to this site asking for permission to send emails to other members, but have not heard anything yet.

If its from a stamp album, it sounds like one for new collectors, maybe aimed at younger collectors. You could scan it and then use google to search for similar images. I havent had much luck with that google feature.

You could also search albums on ebay or Amazon. If its inside the album, maybe a tutorial section, it will be hard to find the image online.

If its in a stamp album of any kind, I am surprised no one here recognizes it.

Although we don't have much information, we've been told it's an "old" stamp book that came from an estate sale or auction. I really appreciate everyone's interest. I'm hoping to eventually identify what stamp book the picture comes from, so any information about the artist of the drawing, style, time period, etc. would be very helpful.

If I'm given access to send private emails I can send it to anyone who is interested. Thanks!

Wow! Those are strict rules...no posting online of a stamp book picture I mean. The contest organizers must be monitoring everywhere in that case.
Maybe someone should take the chance in getting, via e-mail, this picture and post it here. I pass on the chance tho... I have enough spam already.

I'm beginning to feel like the guy in the picture - with question marks, yeses and nos flying around his head.
