Thanks for looking at my album, is there much interest in an old stamp album from 1866? I enjoy looking at the countries that were around back then. Many I have talked to do not give me the time of day about it being 1866 and one of the oldest stamp albums ever made, they only ask... what stamps are in it, then I get sad. I would think a true collector would also see value and worth in an album this old, even if there are only a very few stamps in it. Has anyone ever seen this album before, I wonder how many exist. Thanks for reading.

Well, if you are looking at parting company with it, I'm sure that there would be interested parties. Namely stamp collectors for its early place in the hobby's history, a stamp dealer for possible resale...like Jay Smith who started this thread, and rare book dealers would have an interest. From the one stamp shown, that was not contemporary with the age of the album, put in by a later collector. So, all the value is in the book and no one has a track on how many of these might be out there. Perhaps some philatelic libraries have a copy of it. ebay in multiple categories?
