shaf2b...Like was said before..Scan 2 to 4 stamps at a time and make sure they are upright for better analysis...Reds and blacks by themselves...Even if you have to scan one at a time..There are a bunch of good guys/girls on here that would be glad to help.

I'll echo the other comments and also say "good stuff". It is rare for folks to post an inherited collection that is worth something. Heck I'd love to see a photo of a pile of 50 penny blacks. Remember there is "catalog" and "retail" value of these things. Unless there is something that is truly spectacular you won't get full catalog for it. Condition as others have said is key. Some scanning will be good for two reasons. Folks here are very good at details and if you want to sell/appraise you will need the best image possible. Get a scanner or a friend that has one. Scan the backs too.
From what I see you may want to get them appraised. What part of the US are you from? Folks here can offer advice on dealers too. There are still enough around that they would be interested in some of what you have here. You have to decide if you want an appraisal or to sell.

If it were me, I would start with the last page you showed.
Get yourself some stamp tongs and a magnifying lens. Go to your local library and borrow the appropriate Scott Catalog.

Be careful handling the stamps. There are probably some moderately rare stamps in the collection. A tear or crease could be.., lets say, frustrating down the road when you learn more about them.

It appears you have an entire used set (with spares) of 1887-92 QV Jubilee, on the first page shown. That's nice. Not rare, but nice.

On Penny Blacks, it turns out town cancels are a premium because of the predominance of black Maltese Cross cancels

I though red Maltese Cross cancels were more common than black Maltese Cross cancels on Penny Blacks.

I don't know the percentage distribution of black/red cancels on Penny Blacks. But in the catalogs, the red Maltese Cross cancel has a slightly higher listed value than the typical black Maltese Cross cancel for OFF COVER Penny Blacks.

However, I did mean to type "Maltese Cross cancels" rather than "black Maltese Cross cancels". It was really late that night and I wasn't fully functional. So thanks for pointing that out.

Also, thanks to Scotzm for pointing out that the octagonal Queen Victoria stamps are likely from postal stationery. I think I can make out a few of the date plugs, which are only found on the postal stationery stamps. Here's were a scan would be helpful in showing the details more clearly.
