I usually pick up "Hawid-style" mounts, which mostly run around £15-20 for strips of 100, although I presume they'd be cheaper in the States:

The packages they list run 25 per pack. Their pricing is outrageous. They also misrepresent the current retail value to make it appear you are getting a 20% discount. I just checked ebay; Golden Valley in Minneapolis has them at $5.75 a pack with a reasonable shipping charge. Potomac is in dreamland if they think they will sell many at their price, I doubt they even intend to.

Against my better judgement I did another order to Potomac today- wanted to use up the credit, not a large order just five packs of mounts.

First their website wouldn't accept my discount code. Then after trying again it appeared it had. However bottom line is I did NOT get the over $5 in credit for my order, and, I just checked my Visa carrier account. It was run through without the discount. I did however get a nice email from Potomac reminding me I had a credit of $5.91 I could 'use any time.' I wanted to use it on THIS order.

This company is being run on a shoestring, it seems. Their site still lists items probably no longer available and for all I know that includes the mounts I ordered today. I would bet they will be leaving the market in the next year or so.

They're on my no fly list from here on.

Agreed- Potomac supplies is in Maryland, while I live in Nebraska. I think you were referring to the link the prior poster supplied- that may be cost efficient if I were to order a lot of mounts at one time but that's not the case here.

I'm having a similar problem right now with Naxos, a distributor of CD's. Very frustrating.

Well just when you thought it couldn't get any better it did.

Got my mount order today, no issue with that. There were two boxes, one with my mounts and the other.. with someone else's order. Some guy in MA may be wondering where his Lighthouse UV lamp is. I've emailed and asked them to send me a prepaid label to return and suggested they might want to send the poor other guy his lamp right now.

I know, stuff happens, that's life. With this outfit it just seems like one thing after another. Someone in shipping there just is not real sharp.
