Impressive, chipg! On both pages I notice a small 'e' outside the LR corners of one of the stamps. I can not seem to notice any reason for this?

Peter - It's a reminder to myself that I have a certificate from an expert committee sitting in my files. You see these little notations on exhibits to keep the judges from questioning something you're showing. |

Great idea! And you added another fine page, amazing how good all those differences in hue look on a page!

If you check out the upcoming Sparks Auction, they're selling off similar pages for all the LQ denominations. A greay reference! Here's the 2c as an example |

chipg, that is quite complete and nicely organized. Good to know about the e, too. |

What a wonderful reference, Chip. I'm doing my own LQs right now and this is going to help a lot.
A quick question about your "soft blotting" Duckworth #8 papers. According to my guide, Paper #8 "is soft, fragile and is generally observed with thins, tears and/or creases." Yours look terrific, while my suspected copies all have at least some perf issues...
Also, "most examples show an embedded silt / mineral content, resulting in a sparkle effect due to light refraction." --> Kind of odd. Do you notice this in yours?
Last question regarding your 'e' notations. Do you mean that each 'e' copy has a corresponding a Greene Cert?
Cheers! GREAT stamps. |

VF: Yes, every one with an "e" has a certificate as Duckworth paper 8 (thick soft carton paper). I can see the sparkle on them - 3-5 little flecks of mica or something else that catches the light.
Perforations on all but the hard papers can be problematic with the Large Queens. These were all selected for their centering and perforations. Took years to accumulate this group.

Good to see that you have left a space for # 32. There were 2 for sale last year. Good luck finding the 4th one..... |

Gilles, this must be the new math? "There were 2 for sale last year. Good luck finding the 4th one......" Whatever happened to number three?
