RUSSIA(SOVIET UNION) Scott 4301a   That's how the ceiling paintings look now after lengthy restoration. This site shows before and after restoration. Yes there's been some pretty horrible "restorations" but the worst one in my opinion was the Ecce Homomonstrosity.  Apparently the 82-year-old "restorer" had the best of intentions but what a bloody disgrace. A preschooler could have done better. |
