Hi John. Yes, all of the B areas of Boston are contiguous - they form the main part of western Boston. But I do agree that if there are not other letters known to cover the rest of Boston that it would be less likely.

Another possibility is it could be the initials of the carrier - something like the Boston Delivery Company?

That's a nice card! Quite unusual to see a carrier cancel on the front. And same-day delivery -- you pay a lot more than 1 cent for that these days!
