This is one of the most important German half-timbered town hall buildings. France Classical Architecture July 7, 2008 Grand Palais is a large historic site, exhibition hall and museum complex located at the Champs-Élysées in Paris. Construction of the Grand Palais began in 1897.........as part of the preparation works for the Universal Exposition of 1900. The structure was built in the style of Beaux-Arts architecture.  |

When it was built it was the tallest building in the city and South America. The steel-structured skyscraper measures 100 meters and has 18 floors; each floor has a unique design and ornamentation.  |
