Something for everybody, or just about : triangular stamps, with a coat of arms, with fish and flowers, and an error to boot

The coat of arms of Bhopal State in India (the 1937 1½ Anna Service stamp, with SERVICE overprint missing in pair, SG 331b). The supporters are mahseer: reputedly one of the largest of all fresh-water fish. There are musk blossoms around the central ring.

Perfume = latin = per fumus = by way of smoke

I cannot find any information on Musk Blossoms

I can imagine the scent of apples, roses, oranges
etc & etc.

I have absolutely no idea or recollection how Musk smells
evidently no stored in my memory bank.

And then, there are the anorexic elephants of the Dhar State coat of arms:

on this 2 Anna stamp of 1898. (To put things in perspective, a postal runner (the unmechanised, pre-internal combustion engine mail carriage system) at the time would have earned 2 to 3 Annas a day for his efforts.)

In my tram conducting days, one of my friends and colleagues, was a very (how shall I put it?) cheerful chap. This used to outrage some of the more upstanding and forthright citizens, who would make threats of physical violence against him. (No gauntlets - lycra or otherwise - as I recall, though.) His routine response was 'Promises! Promises! Nothing but idle threats!'

I think Tonymacg is pretty safe, surely being struck with a lycra gauntlet can't be very painful...

I don't know about that, Stampgal. Just think of all the muscles Rodney has built up, bicycling through the bush. I'll bet he could make that lycra gauntlet sting. I'm just glad I'm several thousand kilometers away, on the right side of the Nullarbor.
