In remembrance of "Pearl Harbor Day", December 7th, 1941.
That was the event that started (edit; U.S. involvement) in WW II. Here we are today, seventy-five years later.

I can barely read some of these letters without having the same issue.

What I have noticed on almost every letter that my father wrote home
to his parents, he signed off, "your loving son Bill"!

I wonder how often that type of sign off is used today?

This is an example of a full size V-mail. I do see Regular Mail
stamped over V-mail. They are usually reduced to a much smaller
size, 4 1/4 x 5 1/4 card.

GeoffHa, you are correct. It started the U.S. involvement in WW II.
