I finished designing pages for the 1954 Liberty Issue, printed them, and began mounting the stamps on the pages. I also scanned in some more of my plate number coils to add to my website. One of my goals for this year was to digitize my collection and put it out on the web. The work continues... |

The other thing I've been working on the past few days is sorting out my French stamps. I last sorted them a couple of years ago, and now have close to a shoebox of mew material. I used to have the whole collection in a 64-page stockbook, but it has grown too stuffed, so I'm now re-housing in 3 64-page books. One for definitives and two for commems. So far I've got up to the franc revaluation in 1960.
As well as the half shoebox of off-paper in envelopes, I also have about 50-100 album leaves to go through. That includes some near-complete def. sets, which will be a great help, esp. the WWII and post-liberation era. |

consolidated my Romania collection the last few evenings. LOTS of sorting and moving from remainder collections to a better Scott album. Amazingly even many newer stamps were postally used (as opposed to CTO) even up to the 1980's. For what it's worth I brought most of the duplicates (400+ all different Romania many earlier incl. commemoratives) to our stamp club auction--no takers at $8 starting bid :-( --Jim Wentzell stampguyaps177-681 |

Jim - they really are a hard sell. I sold two albums and a bunch on leaves, covering 1948-80, with covers, sheets etc, for a cumulative £36 plus postage. The Post Office did better than I did! |

I went to Yorkshire coast stamps auction in Scarborough (England) 600 lots went under the hammer in 56 minutes. I got a GB 6d mauve, just 4 margin, Scott 7a for a £112 and a Scott 58, plate 9 for £56.00. I also got a 1978 5th edition of the Stanley Gibbons Great Britain Queen Victoria catalogue for only a pound. Slightly out of date but still mind bending in it's complexity. I am a happy bunny, though temporarily impoverished. |

Noocassel, thank you - you made my day! If you think your SG is just 'slightly' out of date then I am still a spring chicken!

I had about an hour tonight so I put some used 2011-2013 US issues on my Steiner pages. The Flags Of Our Nation and the Seed Packs dont fit the space very well, but at least they're in the album now. Might do some shopping now... |

I worked on some Czechoslovakia BOB. Found 2 privately perfporated newspaper stamps. One is now in my album. The other one is a different stamp but mint so ends up with my stamps for trading as I collect used only |

Updated some want lists and inventory values after picking up a couple of recent Scott catalog volumes at the library (my home set is 2008) and spent some time on ebay looking for Liechtenstein! I'm mostly postal history oriented but sometimes it's fun to fill some album spaces. |

Preparing my bids for the Kelleher auction this weekend. After agonizing over strategy and mathematical bidding scenarios I decided to use a dartboard instead to pick lots and drew cards to set maximums. |
