This is what's wrong with ebay. No listing fees ! They should go back to the way it was, charge a listing fee and reduce the final value fees. Sellers would have to price their items right or the listing and relisting fees would eat them up.

There is a group of stamps that keeps showing up in one of my searches, that I know has been out there for 2 years. The seller has never reduced the price and there it sits. Drives me nuts! That I have to keep stumbling over it ever time I do that search.

How many thousands of other items exist like that ?

Of course I realize ebay is designed with other more lucrative items in mind. Stamps are a very small fish in a very large sea.

Other sites that try to cater to collectibles use the same model. We need a true stamp auction site. Items that start under a dollar, low cost shipping and let the bidders determine what it is worth.

You can block a seller from your searches. I do that for some sellers that are stupidly overpriced.

Agreed, they use a business model which dictates they cater to their shareholders, stock price, and profitability.

The issue here is building, implementing, and supporting a worldwide online auction infrastructure that makes very small stamp transactions worthwhile. Saying that you want to support hundreds of thousands <$5 dollar online transactions is not exactly a business model that will attract investors, a small business loan, or even allow you access to high interest business loans.

Consider Amazon, it took them 20 years before they turned a profit…

The name of this game is 'cost per transaction'.

Thanks for the laughs!

Perhaps someone should email the seller offering to sell him 10 of these 'rare' stamps for the low price of $50 for him to resell.

I will have to look into how to block a seller. There are a few which I want to block since they charge $30 to ship one stamp.

HipStamp is trying just what I suggested. A true auction ! 348 items starting at 1 cent with no reserve. This is the 2nd one they have ran. It isn't junk material either.

Check It Out and support it if you believe in this true auction format.

There is a tab on every auction for the shipping information. I will it agree that it is not very handy and requires several extra key strokes but it is there.

Yes, you are probably correct.
I must have just picked a lot where that wasn't correct.
Others looked OK.
