jarnick, to rub salt on wound it takes 10 days to 2 weeks for the item to get here. So why exactly are they charging me such a high cost??? It isn't the speed of delivery that justifies it.

Rebel, UPS charges outrageous brokerage fees that in the case will be a third of the cost.

There are mail forwarding services that work worldwide. Many deliver door to door using couriers such as DHL. Depending on the country, some will deliver packages weighing around 1kg to Europe for approx. 20 euros. A much better deal than GSP will ever be, so it's worthwhile to check out this shipping option when buying anything from the US.

The GSP is awful and International shipping is expensive, BUT bidders should always review shipping details before bidding. If the shipping terms aren't acceptable the bidder should contact the seller before bidding not after winning the item. A bit of a pet peeve.

And of course, both ebay and PayPal add their fees to these prices.

In the interest of accuracy, the ebay Final Value Fee does not apply to foreign shipping amounts above the first US shipping amount. However, PayPal still takes their bite.

The ebay policy is as clear as mud, but it does say that if a seller offers free US shipping there will be no foreign shipping final value fee. Look somewhere in the middle of the ebay description below:

Quote:
Final values fees on shipping charges are calculated using the shipping service the buyer chooses.

However, when you offer an international or one-day shipping service and it's selected by your buyer, your final value fee for shipping is calculated using whichever service is less expensive, either:
The first domestic service in your listing that isn't one-day, or
Your international or one-day shipping service.

For example, if a buyer chooses international shipping and you specified free shipping as your first domestic option, you don't pay any final value fees on shipping charges for that item.

If international or one-day shipping is the only service you offer, your final value fee for shipping charges will be calculated on that service.

If you're a seller from one of the following countries (China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, or Vietnam) and your item isn't located in the US, final value fees on shipping charges are always calculated using the shipping option your buyer selects.
