Dear Tim H.

I'm amazed that these posts are still up...2017 was a long time ago.

I have learned a thing or two in those 9 years, one being something about a stamp that you show to be a forgery, ostensibly because the postmark date is 1896, "one year before they were issued".
Well, it turns out that that particular postmark is a 'star & crescent' for Merowi and it was repeatedly applied using either Oct 96 or Sep 96 before some Postmaster got wind of it and corrected the date-bar.

That said, I still think you post about the Provisional First Stamps of Sudan is one of the most informative posts on the subject. Thank you.
