I am currently reorganizing the attic. I found a few covers/cards etc. this one is an early Zeppelin one. Viktoria Louise.

I also rediscovered an old fleamarket find from many years ago.

1930 Spear Germany card game. I believe commemerating the 1929 world flight

I really like the Viktoria Luise card. These were printed in 50 pfg and 1 M varieties and were flown on a number of special flights back a forth between Frankfurt and Wiesbaden during October 12 through November 7, 1912 to benefit the National Aviation Fund. Yours was on the October 18 flight from Frankfurt over to Weisbaden. The rare ones of this series of flights are those with the on board (An Bord) cancellations.

Of the Zeppelin covers my favorites are the ones from Paraguay to Germany. The colorful stamps and the distinctive postmarks make for an appealing cover.

Here are a few more from the 1932 Netherlands Flight previously mentioned here. All album page images link to larger copies.

The previous cards shown in this thread were all either on-board cancels or Netherlands mail from the return flight. These three cards are from the outbound flight, but cancelled at Friedrichshafen rather than on-board.

Friedrichshafen Cancel from 1932 Netherlands Flight

The primary difference in these three cards is the location at which each was dropped -- Enschede (Si 164Aa), Groningen (Si 164Ba), or Rotterdam (Si 164Ca).

Friedrichshafen cancel, dropped at Enschede (Si 164Aa)

Friedrichshafen cancel, dropped at Groningen (Si 164Ba)

Friedrichshafen cancel, dropped at Rotterdam (Si 164Ca) (missing Rotterdam arrival cancel, as was common)

Your Netherlands flight card is even more special as it was sent by a crew member Kurt Schonherr helmsman on the flight.

so there are a lot of zeppelin posts on the board, I thought id try this one.... I have a C35 Scott Zeppelin and the question is album related. I have an older Scott Blue International Postage Album with a Germany Air Posts Stamps page 1919 - 1938. I am not too familiar with these albums. The section does not include any of the Zeppelin Crossing stamps, i.e., C35-C42.

Would there be another section to look for? Any help from someone familiar with this album appreciated. Thank you.

Scroll down for an exhaustive list of airmail stamps that are included.

And they are not included. The Blue(s) is(are) not complete and was never intended to be.

PostmasterGS. I am trying to send you a personal message to ask how you build these pages for the Zeppelin Covers but the forum software will not allow me to send you a message. Im newly back into stamp collecting and would like some guidance on the steps you go through and software you are using to build these awesome pages. Thank you. Rich

Rich,

I use Adobe InDesign to build my pages. The paper is Neenah Exact Vellum Bristol, 67 lb, 8.5" x 11", Cream color. For postcards, I use Smead Self-Adhesive Polypropylene Pockets, 6" x 4". For covers, I use either the same pockets, or Scott/Prinz black split-back mounts. For the cancels and cachets shown on the pages, I use Photoshop to isolate them from the postcards/covers.

Rather than start a whole new post I'll bump this one with a question: what are these overprints on these Paraguay Airmails? They say flown aboard the Graf Zeppelin, but they don't really look used, more like some kind of Cinderella type cancel. Asking this for a friend who also couldn't find this particular cancel/overprints anywhere online. I propose fake/souvenir, but does anyone know better?

I'm not 100 percent sure but they appear to be authentic stamps cancelled to order souvenirs for a stamp collector and not flown on a Zeppelin.
