I assume that neither ebay buyers or sellers have a monopoly on newbies.

I agree that the ebay policies and tools could be improved. But that said, I am looking at this mostly as a small niche ebay hobbyist buyer and seller. I an unsure how other, much larger segments of the ebay marketplace might have influence on these policies.
