Lönnrotin koti kuntoon = Renovate Lönnrot's home

Elias Lönnrot was a man involved with Finnish culture. He collected lots of poems from Finnish (and Carelian) countryside and composed our National Epic Kalevala from those poems. I think at the time of this Cinderella he was already dead, so that was a cultural fundraiser.

What makes you put a question mark at the end of that sentence?
Most countries - in Europe at least - issue a lot of stamps showing popular sights.
I am working on a Spanish set from the 1960s and 1970s showing 'paisajes y monumentos' (landscapes and landmarks) and', often, is referred to as 'turismo.'

Channel Islands also issued tourist stamps that they did not even bother to cover up.

PostNL issued a whole series 'Mooi Nederland' miniature sheets showing sites. In 2014, it issued a card with five '1 International' stamps depicting typical Dutch symbols. When I go to the PostNL counter at my local supermarket to buy stamps for international letters, I still get these stamps.

You interpreted it differently than I.
Intent was "Interested in Postage Stamps as a vehicle for Tourism?"
Then here's a monograph on the subject with a Finn cynosure..

There was recently a thread on a student wanting information on Geographic
thematics which was miss understood.

Tourism on stamps is a very common occurrence. What makes you think I didn't know that?

I considered you are very aware of touristic issues. That is why I asked why the question mark.

I, still, am trying to understand what you mean by that.

Do you mean tourism to visit places depicted on stamps?
Tourism with philatelic objective?
Stamps dedicated to tourism itself?
Or just that someone investigated the subject?

It will be interesting to see how it develops. Tourism is the subject of criticism from the 'sustainability' crowd. I do not expect Finland is overrun by tourists, but you might start to see a drop in new issues with such a link.

Barcelona, Venice and Amsterdam are a few cities that discourage tourism. For years, I avoided Venice - as beautiful as it is - because of the touristic overcrowding. My girlfriend asked me to take her there, so I did, a few years ago.

Maybe I should have a look at Finnish stamps to get an idea of where to go and what to see. It is one of few European countries I have never visited.
