One minor disappointment was...

My complain will be that they don't have spacers betwen group of pages like the Scott Brown album to compensate for the thickness of the stamps, and even Scott will need more

these volumes would come with a few blank pages interspersed for additional items

A bound album like this you collect the album not the stamps. If Amos will redo the Brown albums on single page ( this will means spliting a volume in 2 ) , I will pay very easy $ 3000 to $ 5000 for them. I will hinges everything, nothing in the margins. This is my dream, nothing look better than a brown album even if the layout is poor.

P.S. I very much know about the pages they sell for the Int. and Specialty binders, it's just not looking good as a bound album

here you can see, note the album have been never use, I have the full set like this, binding is good, the pages borders not at all

It was only after I won this that I discovered Gibbons is finally republishing the pre George VI album series. They now have George V and will be going back to the start by next year. I had frankly given up.

This may indeed wind up an item I keep as an end in itself, and eventually may bite the bullet and buy the full pre 1936 series. For now I intend to enjoy what I have.

Recent editions usually have a good number of blank leaves for additional material - perhaps the previous owner removed them to reduce bulging. These look great when you reach a decent number of stamps on a page (unlike most of mine), although mounts don't really work with the album, in practical or aesthetic terms. I don't think I'll spring for a revamoed version - the low likelihood of my getting the QV stamps to put in it makes further splurging pointless!
