I think the lesson learned is a good one, and as noted earlier, no good deed goes unpunished. Perhaps the best thing to do with the unwanted wallpaper stamps is donate to one of the charities that can use them.
Some buyers are like that. I once got a neutral from a guy I'd sold a large mint all face different lot of Germany 1990 to 2000 to. He paid below face. His reason? One of the stamps had a bent corner. Think I didn't block him? Incredible.
