In the first image, the purple stamp has lines through the value. Does anyone know the significance of the lines? Normally there would be a new value indica of some sort but that doesn't appear to be the case here. Thanks for your help.

Second row: A(rab) R(epublic) (of) Egypt - general revenue (5 mills), rest are first Egyptian Tax issue 1939-49. Third row: Official use (See SG) 1962/3 (first is inverted 4), 35, 5, 10 m.
