Rob

Herr appears to be replaced by 'lobl' which means 'praise' in English. Who knows.

Löbl could be the german recipient's name.

Thanks to both.
I was wondering if it was an honorific.

Hi Rod.
It could be honorific too.
"Löbl." for "Löblich" (praiseworthy)

Postmarks unfamiliar to me.
Would these be MANDATE cancels (similar to Romania) Postal Money Orders?

Hungary was one of my first stamp 'passions' when I was first starting out as a collector (way back during the Nixon administration). They were plentiful and visually appealing, thanks to Legrady Sandor. Seeing your page posts was nostalgic. For the early issues, I used Scott catalogue to sort them out but I understand that there may be shortcomings.

Now I need to go back and check my postage dues to sort through my stock for size variations of the imprint. Thanks for the info and inspiration.

Fabulous Vayolene
Thank you.

Still awaiting Catalogues,
perhaps to find out when these two penny stamp definitives
changed the inscriptions (1963 as its place under the "M")
Sc#1512

The penny stamp definitives "coil stamps" are dashed hard to find.

Perhaps for those sorting the Buildings definitives.

My Hungarian catalogue mentions two sizes for the filler issues:

20.5x16.5mm
21x17.5mm

They are not given distinct catalogue numbers. It also mentions the existence of paper, color, and gum variations.

Rod,

I hadn't thought to check my Gibbons Austria Hungary volume. For the 40 and 60 filler issues in this series, they distinguish two types:

Type I: "5" under "G". Size 21x18mm.

Type II: "5" left of "G". Size 21 1/2 x 17 1/2mm.

Gibbons

1904 - 60 filler scarlet type I
1904a - Perf 14 type II (coil) issued in 1967
1904ab - Type I

Hope this helps.

Dale
