A very beautiful postage stamp, an engraved work of art and a favorite of many stamp collectors.

(By use of the dry printing process some of Canada's most beautiful line engraved postage stamps were produced. An example is Canada's 50¢ Bluenose postage stamp which was a sheet-fed intaglio recess line engraved rotary plate press dry printed postage stamp.)

I really only collect US stamps. Still, I have been very tempted to pick up a nice example of this stamp. One of the most beautiful stamps the whole world has ever produced. Outstanding. And the whole "Tommy Tricker and Stamp Traveller" movie with the fictional 'boy in the bow' plate variety.

Bluenose.

"The stamp depicts the fishing schooner Bluenose and the design, by the Canadian Bank Note Company, Ottawa, is a montage of two different images of the vessel, racing off Halifax Harbour."
