Hoosierboy said: "And then there was (is) the premiums charged for graded material. P.T. Barnum said it best, something about one born everyday .....". Well, Russ, (sarcasm font on) thanks for calling me, as well as some of my collector friends who also collect graded stamps, a sucker; that really makes me feel positive about the hobby (sarcasm font off). I find this statement particularly hypocritical coming from you since you regularly on another forum preach to others to "Please Practice Positive Philately". Russ, demeaning others for their collecting interests is not positive.
I do NOT consider sharing information on some of the pitfalls that have previously afflicted our hobby as being negative. True, these are personal opinions. Still practicing positive philately ....
Russ, hypothetically, if someone wrote on this site that "And then there are the premiums being paid for common Prexies just because they are on an envelope. P. T. Barnum said it best, something about one born every day", you would consider that to be positive? I would consider that to be a negative statement about modern postal history collectors.
