I know a lot of people may not collect Provinces..I am trying to determine whether or not there is a variety on this stamp..I have 5 of these and 4 have guide dots bottom left and one does not..Hopefully some one has what I am looking for..Thanks.

Robert

Robert, it looks like the one on the right is a stamp from the left edge of the sheet. Probably the reason that it does not have the guide .
A shame the stamp is in a bad shape,

Robert, I agree with Peter. I believe that the left columns of the sheets do not have guide dots, just like the Small Queens of Canada.

Here is my only example of New Brunswick #7. It has the guide dot in the lower left.

Thanks Peter...BeeSee
If that is the case then only 10% of the stamps on the sheet have no guide dot lower left corner..Makes it collectable then.

BeeSee, I thought you were on to some thing there, but thought a little harder and realized if the left column stamps have no guide dots as you suggest on the right stamp in my post. then why is there remnants of a stamp to the left of it..So can not be left column..Now I am still confused.

It is an imprint?
Don

Think this image pretty much is conclusive proof on the dots.

You talking about the left side of the stamp Don..?

You may be right, looks like imprint block writing..Good catch.

Now that we have recognized that..Still wondering if the left column has no guide dot or is it a variety.

Hi Robert,
All the stamps in the left column have no dots that I can see, I think BeeSee was right on. Your stamps seem to be quite heavily inked.
Don

Edit: I can not seem to find any margin multiples for the right hand side of the sheet.

Thanks Don..And thanks for posting the block..

What it means then is 1 in 10 o any given sheet have no guide dot..Still collectible don't you think..?

Hi Robert, I gave you the anser in the second post, right under your original post. The right stamp has an imprint in the perforations, hence I told you it was from the left side of the sheet.

I am reviving ( if term appropriate) this thread to ask members who own NB # 7, 7b and 7c (Unitrade cat) to put them up on scans as I wish to differentiate colours (colors), orange, deep orange and yellow orange. I have bought in the past a # 7 and # 7c but find the colors look alike !! Cannot find a 7b. Have searched to find the 3 shades (colors) without success.
Thanks -
Rene

Thanks wert
No problem with the 7bs but I cannot distinguish the bottom ones (color). My eyes do not have enough capability !! plus one
is used which makes it more difficult. I would appreciate if you could e-mail me these scans so that I can work them over and over
and compare the 7 and 7c - both I have, Mint.
Scans are scans, I know but you have to rely on something !!
Many thanks as always !
I would like to get a 7b......any recommendation ?
Rene
