hi svensson - Bergen is a wonderful place - hope your trip will be good, as the weather in Bergen is known for being 'unpredictable' - or maybe more correct to simply say 'rainy'

btw - I did have a 'suspicion' about your Swedish heritage based on your give-away name

I used to have a friend that claimed that he came from royalty from Norway and Sweden when they were one country. They had to flee when the coutry split. I am not sure how much truth there is to it.

Ha ha, that's a scam! Nobody had to flee, the two countries split up without any violence, and the royal family of Sweden-Norway remained the royal family for Sweden - while Norway 'imported' a prince from Denmark to become its first king (as an independent monarchy) since 1388.

We are looking forward to some Bergen area fishing after we went to Iceland this past May, Sweden last summer for June. Her family is from Gotland so she expects the Riveria, mine is from Goteborg...so we expect rain. hahaha

I am so glad you had this conversation on this thread so I got to see it, I love most anything scandinavian - I have been thinking while going through these stamps, I think I will start my own collection of scandinavian stamps to compliment my jewelry collection of scandinavian silver jewelry. I really like the scandinavian sense of design.

In the meantime I am really conflicted about what to do with all these stamps, I guess I will start selling some on ebay, but the ones I find with any value I find I want to keep them - have this problem with jewelry.
