Decided to soak the 731 to see if
Misalignment in right frame was a crease
I didn't not think so!
Haven't seen this before!

Hi Pshann,

The 731 is Gundy, rated common on kangaroos.

The other is a 1998 of Girvan, rated RRRR on kangaroos.

As to the paper flaw, surely it is a pre-printing issue?

Hope this info helps

A nice 6d diadem pair with inverted 231 of Coonamble, type 5R28, rated RRRR.

With contrast and comparison to Hugh Freeman's exemplar:

I missed this at the time FDS; a very nice find

6d diadem pairs with numerals aren't exactly common!

Not a rare postmark nor perfectly inked but nice to have a complete strike of 1046 Nyngan on this 1890 pair of the Allegorical Figure of Australia.

Thank you for sharing those, Bobby De La Rue.

There can't be many of the postmark/stamp combination below in existence.
A challenge for members.
I'll post my identification tomorrow if no one discovers it in the meantime....

Spot on, Bobby De La Rue - cancelled at Brighton, Sussex, England.

Would be great to see some of yours when you get the chance.

Okay, guys. Fun story. But, why?

Was this sent from NSW, and the clerk missed the mark, leaving the clerk in Brighton feeling it necessary to more-fully cancel it? The ovals seem sufficient to cancel?

Favor cancel?

Best theory?

Part of the Sydney duplex can be seen at the top of the stamp (the three concentric ovals would have N.S.W. within them).

Best theory is a redirected cover.

According to Hugh Freeman's famous book, the only choice for this one would be 342.
The appears quite normal on examples that I have seen but this one looks more like '34S' !
