Just received this used Sc # 19, a 17 cent blue Jacques Cartier. Please look at pics+ microscope shots. Thanks for your opinion ! Did use re-entries.com as reference and Unitrade 2018.Did not see any doubling of the frame but the 17s...not sure.
Rene

I see some unusual stuff, like a bulge on the C of Canada and the S of Seventeen, but other than that?

I do not see a re-entry neither.
here are the 2 re-entries I have:
pos 100, note the doubling od frameline at UL frame and doubling on top part of letters TAGE

The second is position 5 showing the doubling in bottom letters GE of postage as well as line in oval above AGE..

Thanks Gilles for showing these. The major one is described in Unitrade Cat 2018 as 19ii and other as 19iv which I had not seen on my stamp.

Renden,
I started a lifelong projects many years ago on this stamp. Trying to assemble a complete sheet with all positions. After many years, I on;y have about 65 different positions. Toughest ones to get is # 7, and 29, in addition to 5 and 100. One day, I plan to post all of them individually. Will need to open a tread for this project...when I have time...

Gilles,

I knew you had interest in Canada 19 - Jacques Cartier 17 c, the minute I joined this Forum and any critique on my newy acquired stamp will be taken positively ! Would also appreciate learning more on these "positions" - how they are deciphered ! I do know the definition of plating and positions but how do you go about it ??

Gilles,
I would be happy to build you an online database for your plating project. You would have access permissions to add/edit plating images and info and also be able to export the database to a spreadsheet, PDF, CSV or XML at any time. Others would be able to view your plating work. Let me know if this is something you would like to do.

Studebaker51, this would be fabulous..
I am in Ottawa, so I would be able to spend my rainy days at National Archive Canada to look at their complete sheet. I have a copy of it, but the resolution is currently too low (only 150 dpi). Will have to get higher resolution if possible.
I also obtained the plating book from Ken Kershaw via the BNAPS so I am off a good start.

51 Studebaker, here is a sample of where the project currently stands. I still have about 45 to identify...

Gilles,
Great...I am putting the database and code in place now, will take a few hours. I will email you details. Was there just this single plate or were there additional plates?

Gilles,
Database built, access account for you established, Edit page completed. I just sent you an email with details. I will work on the 'public' facing webpage and have them in place by tomorrow.

Was the same plate used for imperforate and perforated stamps?
Is there a way others can help you? Trade you copies of the stamp for your extra, similar stamps? I am sure you have extras. Is the plating book a PDF?
